Let me begin by saying that I hate to be the printer police or make your jobs any more difficult than they already are but….Due to the extremely high cost of providing ink cartridges for printers in classrooms, we are forced to change how we are supporting printing.
- In general, everyone will be expected to print to the nearest Black and White Laser printer to your location (Portables, Kindergarten and Office Staff can continue printing locally until more networked printers are added).
- There are networked printers on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th grade halls, Spec Ed and in the 704 and 705 labs.
- There are 2 networked color laser printers, Lab 704 and Media Center. Please consider the cost and actual need for color printing very carefully…is it really necessary considering the cost can be as much as 75cents per page? Special student projects for hall displays are a good example of something you might choose to print in color. Weekly newsletters should be printed once in B/W and duplicated on a copy machine. (try not to print b/w documents to the color printers)
- ALWAYS pickup what you print!!!! We are very wasteful in this area…if you never get around to picking it up…was it really something that needed to be printed?
- If you have a local printer (one connected directly to your computer) and want to continue using it that is fine but you will need to provide the ink cartridges for it. Please do not ask Julie or Bonnie for cartridges.
- If you need multiple copies of a document, you should print it once and run copies for the rest.
I want to thank you in advance for adhering to these guidelines. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns.
